The world will change when we change it!
On April 6th and 7th 2009, TYY, the Student Union of the University of
Turku,
has elections for its highest decision-making body, the 41-member student union
council. All the
members of the student union are entitled to vote in the elections as
well as to be a candidate - also international students. We urge you to
use your rights to make the University of Turku a better place for all of us!
The Green List is a group based on green values. Our list has candidates from all of the faculties. Because nearly all the decisions in the student union council are based on one's values - what different groups believe to be right or wrong - the important thing in the council is not the faculty or the subject you study, but the values you believe in.
Green List was founded for the Student Union Council elections of 2003 and it received a huge victory in the elections, gaining 10 seats out of the total of 41! In 2005 the number of spots increased to 12. In 2007, our size decreased a bit, but we still were the biggest list.
We stand for
We believe that these principles should be implemented in the Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY) and in the University of Turku. All decisions made in the student union are based on values. If you wish to see Green values influencing the way the student union operates, support the Green List!
The election days: 6th and 7th of April, 2009. Pre-vote 31st March and 1st April. Internet vote also available.
